Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

HiroshimaHiroshima Peace Memorial Park is located in the center of Hiroshima, and it is dedicated to the legacy of this city, as the first city in the world to be nuclear bombed. Different aspects of the bombing are represented by a variety of buildings and monuments, like the A-Bomb Dome, the building closest to the hypocenter of the nuke, that remains partially standing; and the Atomic Bomb Memorial Mound, which contains the ashes of 70.000 unidentified victims of the bomb.

Kanazawa

Kanazawa_chayaKanazawa is a historical city in the Ishikawa prefecture, Japan, and it is the best-preserved major Edo-period city in the country. This city has the mark of Samurai, merchants, the Geisha, and the lords. The Kenroku-en Garden, considered one of the top 3 gardens in Japan; The Ninja Temple, which actually was not home to ninja, but got the name for its trapped doors and hidden rooms; The Old Merchant House, a shop that was instrumental for maintaining the elegance of the flower arrangements, the haiku and the tea ceremony, are just a few examples of what you can do in this amazing city.

The 88 Temple Pilgrimage

TemplepilgrimThe 88 Temple Pilgrimage is a 1,647-kilometer pilgrimage route around the island of Shikoku, and it is the most famous in Japan.
The circuit goes around the entire island of Shikoku, through 88 temples, and an optional 20 temples that are unnumbered. Most temples are said to have been founded or restored by the monk and scholar Kobo Daishi. The modern day pilgrims travel by tour bus, but there are many pilgrims that still travel the old fashioned way: by foot. This old fashioned way takes about 60 days to complete, and the pilgrims, known as o-henro-san, can be spotted around the temples and walking along the roadsides  Shikoku, wearing a white jacket.
